Blurb

The Marquess of Wesley is out for blood. For a year, Lord Wesley has tried to

undo the devastation his father left to Penndrake, their ancestral home, only to

blackmailed by the new owner into marrying a woman he’s never met in order to

get it back. But his intentions are less than honorable…

At one and twenty, Miss Kate Holden intends to become a governess, having

sworn off all men years ago. However, her plans are halted when she receives a

daunting letter from her cousin about a Lord Wesley. Ignorant of the name, and

the devilish marquess that wears it all too well, she nearly ends up compromised.

Refusing to fall prey to Wesley’s skillful seduction, Kate decides to turn things

around on the rake. But the high-stakes game between them soon leads to her

Excerpt

“So, to what do I owe the honor of your divine company, Miss Holden?”

She quirked a neat eyebrow and opened her rose petal lips, a motion he watched with sober interest. Everything about her stirred a subtle, yet alarming attraction. All of this forced him to keep reminding himself the woman existed only as a means to an end, nothing more.

“My lord, I’ve come…” She hesitated, he believed, to gather enough courage to go through with her reason.

“You’ve come,” he repeated in an overly husky voice, trying to fluster her further.

She puffed out her cheeks and tempered a few silent words. He wanted to chuckle. He refrained, instead, by hiding his mirth behind a tight fist.

“You think my discomfort is amusing, do you not?” she asked, seeing right through him. If she expected an answer, she didn’t wait to hear it, her body set in motion at a hurried pace in his direction. “Edward told me—”

Wesley shot out of his relaxed stance and met her halfway. He towered over her, trying to intimidate her. To his dismay, she didn’t cower, she didn’t even flinch.

“Yes,” he said, bending down low enough to see a hint of amber reflected in her distrusting eyes. “Go on. I’d love to hear more about your dear cousin, Miss Holden.”

As he waited for her response, the light from the open window shifted, bathing his guest in the brilliant radiance of the late-day sun. She remained silent, her hands flying to the pocket of her dress, as if to protect whatever lay inside. Beyond any doubt, Wesley believed she knew something. She would not be here, would not have come swathed in mystery and risking her own reputation, if this did not involve Edward’s guidance in some way.

The curiosity of what she held compelled him to keep her at Penndrake until he found out what Edward Garrett wanted her to know. Out of patience, he eased away from her.

“Miss Holden, may I suggest we take a walk in the gardens? The day is almost gone, but there is enough light to see us through, allowing us to discuss this further without interruption.”

Again, she opened her curved lip but said nothing. Suspicion sprang from her demeanor, her gaze darting

around the room as if searching for the closest exit. Instead of fleeing, however, she motioned with a surrendering nod, stepping forward until the coat of arms over the fireplace caught her attention.

He studied her as she examined the Wesley motto, her lips moving mutely as she read the three words embedded at the bottom of the shield. Shameful heat rose from deep inside him, and he lifted a rare prayer to the heavens for her not to know the meaning of those powerful words. Maybes he was too poor to have been schooled like her giddy cousins.

Even so, he studied her curious face until she turned to him, her eyes void of any awareness or comprehension. Breathing a sigh of relief, he held his arm out for her to take. She paused, a timid and uncertain hand coming up to rest on his sleeve.

Outside, the day had faded into dusk and dazzled the sight, impressing upon it a majestic beauty of pearl-pink altostratus clouds. Behind them tumbled a blanket of slate-gray vapors, an ominous forewarning of twilight.

The much cooler breeze tugged at the tails of his heavy jacket. He slowed his pace and continued to escort her down a flight of stone steps onto a spacious unblemished lawn. They walked for several hundred yards in silence, him admiring her wondrous interest. On their way to the garden, they passed the stocked fish pond and the honeysuckle-laden labyrinth.

Toward the east, he halted at a stone fountain, centered in the thickest part of the coppice. Large shadows turned the evening darker, the chilly autumn wind transforming Miss Holden’s dewy skin to a nice pink. With his arm outstretched, he persuaded her to a wrought iron bench on the opposite side of where they stood.

“Please have a seat with me.”

He pointed, and she accepted his invitation, much too carelessly, he thought.

She sat down first, her behind resting on the farthest edge of one side. Not to frighten her, he followed suit, allowing enough space to fit her three female cousins between them.

After a quiet moment, he pronounced, “I believe you don’t think too highly of me, Miss Holden, and I would like to persuade you otherwise.”

She drew back and gawked at him with wide sage-like eyes. A wisp of her hair tumbled down into her thick lashes.

Unhindered, she blew it away with a quickly exhaled breath.

Her refinement, or lack thereof, surprised him. Most women—no—all women of her lower station practiced the art of how to appeal to a man and his interests, enough so to attract an amiable and sensible husband. Perhaps, however, Miss Kathryn Holden had no reason to draw the attention of the opposite sex, especially since she had another companion in mind. He tried to convince himself it didn’t matter either way.

Her experience might play to his advantage.

Still, he sought the truth on the matter, just because his thoughts weren’t able to let it go. “Forgive me if I seem too impertinent—”

She scoffed. “You’ve just now thought of apologizing for something you’re about to say? How extraordinary.”

He chuckled and shook his head. “Sarcasm does not become you, madam.”

“Neither does naivety.”

Gracelyn Riley married a firefighter and knew that came with risks. But she never imagined herself widowed in her early thirties with two children to care for on her own. Even though her marriage to Chad Riley had its difficulties, dealing with the last year without him has not been easy. Her brother-in-law, Matt, has been the rock that has kept her from collapsing or imploding.

As a fireman, Matt Riley had been at the scene when his brother, Chad, was killed. For the last year, Matt has suffered from survivor’s guilt and drank himself into oblivion. His sister-in-law, Gracelyn, supported him, lending him a shoulder to cry on. Her friendship has pulled him through time and time again until he finally sobered.

With the year anniversary of Chad’s death upon them, Gracelyn and Matt turn to each for support and comfort. What they didn’t expect was to realize that their feelings for each other go beyond the solid friendship they share. Can they overcome the guilt and the scrutiny of their family and friends to find love together?

The whir of a vehicle engine and the squeal of tires pulling into his driveway caught his attention. Gracelyn’s Jeep Cherokee slammed to a halt. She pushed the door open, banged it shut, and marched up the driveway in her black, heeled boots.

“How dare you,” she spewed, strutting in his direction.

Her hips swayed in a tantalizing rhythm, mesmerizing him. He shook his head, trying to gather himself. Her long, chestnut waves flowed over her shoulders. Her blue eyes sparkled with fierceness and determination. For what, he didn’t know, but she looked gorgeous. The exhaustion that had consumed him a minute ago washed away with a new wave of sexual energy. Heat spread through him and settled in his groin, thickening his dick. Something about her had him hornier than a teenager whenever she was within view, even if she looked like she might knee him in the balls.

She’d definitely be the death of him.

“How could you embarrass me like that?” She halted just inside the garage, her hands on her hips, and her chin tilted up in defiance.

“Well, good evening to you, too.” The sarcasm in his voice was light, but she raised a brow as if surprised that he’d be anything but chagrin. “I thought we already hashed this out at the pub.” Matt grabbed the hem of his t-shirt and lifted it to wipe the sweat from his face. Her gaze dropped to his exposed torso, and her expression shifted from anger to desire, if even just for a second. If he hadn’t been watching her closely, he might have missed it.

“Don’t get smart with me.” She raked her gaze back up his body. When she reached his face, he smirked. She lowered her brows and glowered. “As the evening went on, I had to field questions about your behavior. Those are my co-workers, my friends. Acting like a jealous boyfriend was immature and thoughtless. For someone who wants our situation to be nonexistent, you’ve opened a can of worms. The rumors have officially started.”

“I apologized, Gracey.” He dropped the fabric in his hands, and the bottom half of his shirt covered his abs. “I’ve struggled to deal with our situation. Seeing Jeremy with his arm around you did make me flip out like a jealous boyfriend. I freaked out. My behavior was irrational. I admit it. I don’t tend to think rationally where you’re concerned, so I don’t know what else you want me to say.”

She twisted strands of hair around her index finger and glanced down at the floor. Her anger dissipated for a split second, and she looked vulnerable, exposed, and his heart tightened at the sight. He wanted to wrap his arms around her and shelter her from all the things that made her anything but happy. Unfortunately, that likely included him these days.

“It will only be a matter of time before your mom hears about this.” She glanced back up at him. Her hair still tangled around her finger. “Roberta was apparently watching us closely. She asked me what your scene was about. You know she walks with your mom on Monday evenings. Now what?”

Roberta was a good friend of his mother’s and a bit of a nibby-nose. She’d have no problem mentioning his outburst at the pub to his mom, but he wasn’t overly concerned about it. That surprised him. All this time, he’d believed he couldn’t be in a relationship with Gracelyn because of his mother’s reaction, but as he stood here in front of this woman he adored, he wanted the world to know.

A palpable energy emanated from her. The area between them zinged with her anger, but also with something more. Need. Lust.

“Is this why you’re here?” He stepped in her direction, closing the space between them. “Did you come here to scold me? To tell me to grow up? To question how I feel about you?” He gripped her by the shoulders and pressed her against the side of his truck. She gasped, eyes wide. She tensed under his hold. Her sweet, strawberry scent enveloped him, making him lightheaded. His mouth watered to kiss her, to taste her. “Or did you come here with the hope that I would slam you against my truck, hike up your sexy dress, and sink deep inside you with my now-hard cock?”

She inhaled sharply at his words, but her muscles relaxed as if submitting to what was about to happen.

Matt lowered his mouth roughly on hers. He molded his lips to hers, eating at her mouth with the hunger of a starved man. She didn’t respond immediately, but she softened her lips, and he thrust his tongue between them, exploring and tasting her. He weaved a hand into her tresses and cupped the back of her head, holding her still so he could take her mouth the way he wanted. Hot and heavy.

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Standalone

AVAILABLE NOW!

SYNOPSIS

Reeling from a sudden breakup, Casey Webb leaves Brooklyn, drives north, and settles in a sleepy mountain town in upstate New York. She’s convinced she’s happy being alone—until she reads the acknowledgments in her ex-boyfriend’s hit debut novel, thanking his new girlfriend “above all.”

Good thing Ben Mailer is in town. The hot, young Brooklyn-bound chef offers the perfect distraction. Soon the backwoods are heating up… But as their fling turns into more, the demands of Ben’s family and budding career make moving to her idyllic town impossible.

Now Casey must decide what she can’t live without—her life in the mountains, or the man she wants to be hers above all.

EXCERPT- ABOVE ALL by Rebecca Brooks

“You’re a little scary,” he whispered, turning to look into her eyes.

Casey knew he was trying to be serious, but she had to laugh. “Me? You’d pretty much only seen me in sweatpants and knew I had nothing but eggs and beer in the fridge. If I’m scary, it’s because I’m the loser monster that follows young kids around, providing ample fodder for their parents to issue warnings about what will happen if they don’t do their homework and wind up with too many cats.”

Ben smirked and shook his head. “Something tells me you always did your homework. And last time I checked, you don’t have any cats.”

“Only because I’m not responsible enough to take care of them. I can’t even keep a house plant alive.”

“Overrated skills,” he said. “And you should try a jade plant. You can neglect them to your heart’s content and they’ll live.”

“Tried it,” she countered. “I was expertly negligent and still it died.”

He pressed his lips together, trying not to laugh. “You are a special one.”

“See?” she said. “Not scary.”

“Only scary to a houseplant.”

“Which you are not.”

“But I’m serious.” Ben brought the conversation back around. “You are. You’re beautiful, smart, thoughtful, observant, kind, and an incredible artist—I mean really—and you withstand subzero temperatures—”

“The water’s not that cold,” she objected, but he shook his head.

“Don’t interrupt me when I’m complimenting you. It’s intimidating to be around someone who’s basically the whole package. And intimidating because, how do I even get her attention when she has no reason to glance my way? And then, oh my god, what do I do if she actually does?” He shook his head.

“You’re crazy,” Casey murmured, not sure what to make of this boy who clearly hadn’t been around enough women to know that Casey was anything but special, and far from scary.

“I guess I’ve never known anyone who felt this real,” he whispered so quietly, it was almost as if he hasn’t spoken.

There was a long pause. Casey had no idea how to respond. There was no way to explain how deeply she had longed for him to come back, and your dimples make my heart beat like a bongo set didn’t exactly have the right ring. It was crazy, when she thought about how little they actually knew each other.

But it was even crazier to pretend that after what they’d just shared, they could return to their lives pretending that nothing had changed.

“I think I really like you,” Ben finally said. Quietly, in that embarrassed tone he got that made her want to kiss him all over.

But instead she laughed. “You think?” She raised an eyebrow.

“I know,” he whispered in her ear, his breath shooting arrows down her spine. “I’ve had way too long to think about it, and I know.”

AJ Adams novels are all self-standing and although some feature the same families, you need not read them all – although it would be awesome if you did!

The Degas Girl
Organized Crime. Dark Romance

Degas cover.jpgSerenity Bishop is a work of art. Her skin a canvas, decorated with the scars of her evil captor’s twisted abuse. But her tormentor, Angelo, is about to lose control.

Zachary Schiavelli is an art thief and forger. His handsome face is merely the mask that hides a cold, calculating man whose own childhood of abuse has honed him into a remorseless killing machine.

Zachary is about to take an intense disliking to Angelo.

In a violent tale of mob rule where violence begets violence, an unlikely alliance between two forces of nature is about to change the face of organized crime. When Serenity and Zachary collide, it’s an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object, and everyone around them is about to get caught in the crossfire.

A complete novel with no cliffhangers.

A violent tale of mob rule and dark romance. Warning contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex. Adults only.

degas6.jpgHe wore jeans and a turquoise T-shirt. The colour made his eyes look blue instead of green. I wasn’t fooled by his looks and his gentle ways. This man had a will of iron, and by the way he looked at me, I could see he was just as determined to control me as Angelo. He just used his tongue instead of his fists.

I’d go along with it, because anything that kept me out of the hole meant I had a chance to escape. I’d pretend to be docile, and as soon as he fell asleep or took his eye off me, I’d make a run for it.

He looked me over, frowning slightly. Suddenly I wondered if he was changing his mind. Maybe he wasn’t going to let me eat. Maybe it was a game. Maybe he’d show me the food, and then tie me up and leave me to starve while he stuffed his face. I was trembling at the thought.

Beast
Fantasy, Dark Romance

beast cover.jpgHe stuck the knife in the ground and stripped off his leathers. The tunic came off, revealing a long, lean, muscled torso, covered in tattoos. Snakes ran up and down his arms, his pecs and his shoulders. A skull blazed on his chest.

Then he was pushing apart my legs, settling between my thighs, leaning over me. He smelled of smoke, leather and musk. It was terrifying, like being at the mercy of an animal.

Falsely accused, Wynne is determined to clear her name. However, a trip to petition the Steward at Brighthelme turns disastrous when the Beasts, fearsome warriors from the frozen north, raze the city. When Wynne is carried away, she’s determined to regain her freedom but Rune, her captor, has other ideas.

Beast is set in Prydain, an imaginary place that combines Anglo-Saxon England with Medieval England, the Teutonic Kingdom and the Viking Age. This story contains kidnapping, dubious consent and graphic violence, however, it is a love story rather than a dark romance. It is a standalone novel; no cliff-hangers.

Warning: This book contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex.
Helpless
A Belial MC novel

helpless cover.jpgFracas Macintyre has been in and out of trouble all her life but this time it’s worse than ever. In debt to a loan shark, she’s caught up in a war between the Alistairs, nicknamed The Irish Mob, and Belial’s Disciples, England’s nastiest MC. Kidnapped and at the mercy of Caden Winslow, Fracas is convinced that life is going to get very nasty indeed.

Caden Winslow is an ex soldier used to taking care of business. When an Alistair henchman steals his beloved Busa, he simply takes one of theirs hostage and expects a simple trade will solve the problem. However, Caden is about to be pulled into a war.

Warning: This book is a dark romance. It contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex. It is for adults only.

I opened the boot, and at the sight of the girl, Crush began grinning. “Hey, is that for me, too?”

“You can go fuck yourself!” The little tart blew up instantly. “You evil bastard, let me go!”

“Whoo! I like her!”

Crush is a man who enjoys performing to the stereotypical outlaw biker image. This time I could see he meant it, and so did the girl. She opened her mouth, spotted Crush’s cut and went very quiet.

“You can’t have her. She’s my collateral.” I pulled her towards me, snapped through her ankle ties with the box cutter and threw her over my shoulder. She muttered furiously, but she’d stopped fighting. I could feel her raise her head and look over the crowd of gathering Disciples. She shivered and went limp. I guess she didn’t like the look of the party.
Crush was still curious. “Collateral for what?”
“Alistair’s man took my Busa.”
“You’re shitting me!”

The Bonus
A Zeta cartel novel
Organized Crime. Dark Romance

bonus cover.jpgChloe is a seasoned drug courier who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Facing a lingering and painful death at the hands of the Zetas, Mexico’s most brutal cartel, she persuades their enforcer to claim her. Has Chloe made a huge mistake, or will her choice prove her salvation – and his?

Warning: This book contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex.

Deliverance
Action, adventure, Organized Crime.
Dark Romance. BDSM

deliverance cover.jpgMac is all set for an undercover job when an old friend lands him with Pepper, a human trafficking victim of a Moroccan-Turkish crime syndicate. Songbird
A Zeta cartel novel
Organized Crime. Dark Romance. BDSM

Solitaire is intelligent, tough, and shares Arturo’s interest in BDSM. Arturo falls head over heels but someone is leaking information – and the evidence point at Solitaire.

songbird6.jpg

“You’re the big boss.” She looked up at me and smiled. She was dressed in a cheap cotton shirt and jeans that should be on the burn pile, but that smile was pure gold. This girl had guts.

“I told José he was a fool to try and cheat you,” she said. “I wasn’t part of it, and I don’t work for you. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
She’d heard about our policy protecting bystanders. Of course it doesn’t apply to anyone whose eyewitness testimony can put me in a courtroom. Well, try to put me in a courtroom. In Mexico nobody would dare accuse me, and I’ve enough resources in England to guarantee a police investigation would come to nothing, but it’s not my style to take chances. Solitaire would be going into the ground along with Escamilla.
“Mr Vazquez,” Solitaire gave me her best smile. “I don’t expect something for nothing.” She dropped her voice. “You’d like me,” she whispered. “I’ve heard about you. We’re the same.”
“Are we?”
“Yes, I can make you very happy.” She brushed my hand over her cheek and then kissed my palm. “I’m a very good girl,” she said quietly. “Unless you prefer a naughty one?”
She sucked my thumb, and I was instantly rock hard.
Dirty Dealings
A Zeta cartel novel
Organized Crime. Romance

dirty dealings cover.jpgI could’ve fucking strangled her. She knew it too because she stepped away quickly. “Touch me and I’ll have you!” she snarled.
“Bruja mala leche! What the fuck do you think you’re playing at! You can’t push me around!”
“Sure I can.” Her eyes were slate grey, the same colour as the sky, and just as cold. “I need help, and you’re going to give it.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’ve got a situation. I need someone who isn’t afraid of murder and mayhem.”
I should have charmed her, offered to help and maybe it would have settled it, but I was too mad to even consider it. “Help you? Over my dead fucking body!”
She shrugged. “We can do it that way, too.” She took out her phone. “I’ll call you soon, hopefully within the hour. If you still refuse, I call Smith.” The eyes were hard. “I’d rather not shop you, because I hate that bastard, but I will if you make me.”
I gave her my number. I mean, I wanted to kill her, but in London they notice things like bodies in the street. Especially if you’re careless enough to do it in broad daylight next to a cop shop.

Quique is having a bad time. Back in Mexico his marriage has fallen apart and his wife has made him a laughing stock by cheating on him. Now he’s in London and finding himself out of his depth with a complex commercial deal. To make things worse, Natalia Truelove, a chef and pub manager, is blackmailing him. Quique is ready to commit murder and he’s pretty sure who his first victim will be.

Warning: Dirty Dealings contains strong adult language and themes as well as graphic violence and fully depicted love scenes.

For The Love of Hockey RELEASE TOUR
by Taylor Lavati

Lindsay Wilson has spent her entire life protecting her five younger siblings. At eighteen, she knew the man she’d devote her life to, but when he left her, her passion dimmed. Engrossing herself in her small business and jumping from guy to guy could only distract her for so long.

Finn Jacobs chose his dream of playing professional hockey over the girl he loved. Year after year he competed, throwing himself into the game. After an injury that could end his career for good, he begins to question his decision all those years ago.

Six years later, Lindsay and Finn’s paths cross yet again. The reunion is less than ideal, both unhappy and unfulfilled in their personal lives. Lindsay’s barriers begin to crumble as Finn discovers she’s not the same girl he left behind. They try to avoid each other, but sometimes life forces you to face your past mistakes to make them right. Can their love survive a second chance?

In this inspiring tale of true love and loss, Finn and Lindsay discover each other and find their forever.

CHAPTER ONE EXCERPT

Finn Jacobs ruined my life. The asshole left me when I needed him most, and I’d spent the last six years avoiding the living shit out of him in hopes that I wouldn’t have to face him. Whenever my younger brother Luke told me Finn would be around, I’d dodge the event and wallow in a few glasses of wine and butter pecan ice cream.

However, today all of my hard work would be squandered. I couldn’t avoid him any longer. I knew he’d be at the rink playing in the charity match, but it didn’t make his appearance any less jarring. I wasn’t sure I’d ever be comfortable seeing him and knowing he wasn’t mine. Now that he was just a few feet to my left, I knew it was true. My entire body shook with just one simple glance.

His dark blond hair had grown much longer than I had ever seen it before. At sixteen, he kept it cropped and cut around his head. At eighteen, he let it grow just on the top. But today it flowed in gentle waves around his neck and across his forehead, nearly in his eyes. I didn’t like it. Or maybe I was just stuck with how he used to be.

The hair, though pretty in its own right, distracted from his face. He always had his boyish charm about him that girls couldn’t help but admire. Something about his cut jaw and dark eyes appealed to almost anyone, and now that he was older, his features only matured.

He’d bulked up, too. I knew he had since I saw him on TV, but the television screen didn’t do him justice. I guessed the rigorous training that a professional hockey player for one of the most famous North American teams had to endure was the reason for the new muscles. Minor perk. I almost expected him to look exactly the same as I remembered him. Six years felt more like six days to me.

He hadn’t noticed me yet, so I savored the free moment to watch him anonymously. He moved differently, like he was a big fucking deal with swagger to match. His hips swayed with each step, his shoulders pushed back making his broad chest puff out. He was always confident, but the attitude was new.

I turned away from him and grabbed a glass of wine from the banquet table behind me. I chugged it as fast as possible to take the edge off my nerves. I had to calm down before I burst into tears—or told someone off. Getting drunk was the easy solution, but I had to make a speech for Maggie, my brother’s soon-to-be fiancée, and I didn’t want to fuck up Luke’s proposal on account of me being scared.

I huddled in a corner of the lobby at one of the tall tables near the restaurant and watched as Asher, Maggie’s ten-year-old brother that she adopted, ran up to Finn. Finn crouched down to receive a hug, and his black t-shirt rode over his hips. There was a white strip down his side. Finn leaned forward and grabbed Ash, hugging him hard against his chest. My heart lurched into my throat.

Asher was Finn’s biggest fan, and they hadn’t even met yet. After Maggie and Ash’s parents died, they both went through an adjustment period. Ash used hockey like Finn did, as therapy. Seeing them together here, I knew it would only be a matter of time before Asher fell even deeper in love with him. How could he not? Finn used to be the nicest boy known to mankind. There were even times when we dated that I wondered if he had an angle to his madness. What did he get out of staying after school to help students pass math? He nearly missed hockey practice one time because Jess James couldn’t figure out the Pythagorean theorem. Finn cared about others like their struggles were his own. He always tried to do the right thing.

Or so I thought. That wasn’t the case when he left me at the bottom of my driveway with my luggage in hand and a simple “this is for you, Lindsay. I love you, but you can’t come with me.” Yeah. He was a real class act that morning.

Of course, I doubted he was the guy I knew anymore—whether it was the nice guy or my dumper. He had done so much in his life that he probably grew a big head and became a typical conceited athlete. I couldn’t even tell you a single thing about Finn Jacobs anymore. The thought made me wince.

Reviewmouse_zpsa97eb0d4           WILL LOVE CONQUER?

I received an ARC from the author TAYLOR LAVATI in exchange for an honest opinion. This is Mismousey’s very honest opinion of her book FOR THE LOVE HOCKEY.

Now having already read the first in this delicious series of Love series. I have to say that Ms Lavati hasn’t her readers down. Matter of fact- she has taken this one even farther than the last one.

Her writing skills are so unique that you are left speechless and so moved with emotion. To the point that you are feeling that emotion jump off the page at you and onto you. Ms. Lavati – is a writer that is very dramatic and descriptive. Her stories -characters and scenes all show this. She is able to bring her characters to life before your eyes – and with such detail. You actually believe that you are seeing them standing right next to you talking. The scenes in the FTLH are so well defined. As a reader- you will think you are in a hockey rink ice skating ,  or at the house at with Wilson siblings.

As our story opens -it does a backflip on the reader! Yuppers that right everyone. This book does not take off where FOR THE LOVE ASH left off. (Just had to let you know that). Our story takes places before Maggie and Luke got married.

Matter of fact this is at the beginning when  Finn comes back into Lindsley life. Lindleys is one of Luke’s sister’s. He has4 of them- Lindsley- Lauren -Lisa and Lilly. At any rate- Luke has asked Finn to be one of his best men for his wedding. And of course being that Maggie is no other siblings-she has asked if Luke’s sister’s would be in their wedding. She has asked Lindsley to be on of the maid of honor’s along with two friends. Her new sister’s are helping to plan the wedding with her.

Ash is all excited. Remember – Ash is Maggie’s little brother that she has full custody of that she is now raising.

However- this story is exactly about Maggie and Luke. It’s about Lindsley and Finn. And what happen to them 6 years before. Why they broke up. How hurt Lindsley is over how Finn left her. And exactly why she thinks she now hates him.

So when Lindsley finally is able to talk to him. She tells him off and then informs him that she hates him. She never wants to speak to him again. And then turns and walks away. Just like he did to her 6 years before.

He doesn’t understand why she is so mad at him. He left her for her own good. However-he never explained the reason. Just made her think that it was for the better of his career.

The Wilson siblings have all been protect each other over the years. Lindsley didn’t want to stray too far from home so that she could make sure that her younger brother and sisters were protected. Now it is Luke’s turn to protect his younger one’s.  You see their father love to beat them. And their mother likes to stay drunk- so she doesn’t notice what her husband does to the kids.

Will Lindsley allow Finn back into her heart again? Is there another chance for Love between them?  In order to find out what happens YOU HAVE TO READ THE STORY!!! Mouse is not giving away anything!!

This story has so many twist and turns in it. It also has a story within a story. It is filled full of love- compassion-ups and downs- there’s even some abuse in this story.

I recommend this book to all readers. Mismousey gives this a firm rating of 80 out 5 stars.

MY INTERVIEW WITH TAYLOR…….

Good Morning and Welcome to Mousey Books. Today we have with us the very talented and energetic Taylor Lavati. Please everyone lets all give her a BIG A MOUSE WELCOME!!!!
Mousey—- Hit there Taylor, and welcome to Mousey Books. I have to tell you. I have enjoyed reading all of your books. Thousand Year curse series- Wingless- Finding Sam-  The Last Legacy and many others. Now you have written For the Love of Hockey. My goodness girl – where do you get all your energy from? You are working full time and writing too. Plus your married. We have to know your secret.
Taylor—- I think the secret is passion. Everything that I have in my life and work towards, I am passionate about. I wouldn’t force myself to write at five in the morning unless I loved the story, or loved doing it. Working isn’t so great, but something has to make the money! But I think when you love what you do, you’ll jump through all sorts of hoops to accomplish your goals. I just set some crazy big goals for myself.
Mousey– When did you know you wanted to write?
Taylor– My first idea for a book came to me, and I had no idea what to do. It was a little bit of trial and error, figuring out how to write characters and make them real and creating a plot that made sense. I never published the first book I wrote, but after I realized I actually had the ability to write a novel, I decided to keep going with it. I never expected to be an author, but I knew I wanted to write.
Mousey– You are so creative. I know you have a team made up of 20 to help promote you- discuss your books- sound off things to. Some even make teasers for you. But you do make the majority of them. You are always hosting an art contest on your page. Was art or drawing your favorite in school and is it still?
Taylor— I cannot draw at all! I never took art and the closest thing to it was ceramics that I took as an elective. However, I think art goes along with writing so I find art very interesting and thought-provoking. Plus, it’s pretty to look at! I do enjoy making teasers and I think that falls under graphic design, but still. I like adding my words to photographs that evoke certain emotions. Combining different creative mediums is always fun!
Mousey– Where did the story idea for the Love series come from?
Taylor– I wrote For The Love of Ash first, and that idea just popped out of my head. I don’t think I know where the majority of my plots come from. They seek me out and force themselves to be written. But I love creating very complex characters, with layers that the reader has to discover. I find that aspect of the writing craft very interesting, challenging, but also fun. So when people loved Lindsay and the Wilson siblings, I decided to keep going and adding more and more layers and giving the other characters their own spotlight for a book.
Mousey– In For the Love of Hockey- you have the 2 main characters Lindsay an Finn meet each other after 6 years of being apart. The emotion that you wrote in the story. What did you draw that from?
Taylor— Oh, that’s a hard question. I think a lot of the emotion is from myself. I like using real life experiences and changing them to fit the story because it feels more authentic. Romance itself is such a broad topic, but we love to read about it because each of us has experienced it for ourselves. Lindsay was a character (might be the most in any of my novels) that I relate to the most. She’s in a tough part of her life, trying to find her place. It’s very much so an underdog story. And it’s also a story about second chances, about getting what you deserve. It’s all very real to me.
Mousey– What inspired you to write this book series?
Taylor— The characters, 100%. They forced their story to be told.
Mousey–Do you have a favorite character?
Taylor— How can I not love Asher? He’s not a main character in this book, but I love writing children. They’re so innocent and pure and get the true intentions out of people. The way a child can work into a story really inspires me. But in this novel, Finn is my favorite. Simply, he’s just a good guy with a big heart who isn’t afraid to show his emotions.
Mousey–Have you ever had writer’s block? If so- how did you over come it?
Taylor– It happens sometimes. I find if I take a step back, write something that isn’t the main project I’m working on (like a writing prompt or a new character or an outline) that I can get my creative juices flowing again. Sometimes I switch on the music and let a song write me a scene or something. I play around to get myself back into a rhythm.
Mousey– Now here is a fun one for you. Where can your readers stalk you?
Taylor– EVERYWHERE! I’m super easy to stalk because I’m everywhere. And I love chatting with everyone on facebook. Here are my links: facebook.com/taylorlavati twitter.com/taylorjlavati amazon.com/author/taylorlavati goodreads.com/taylor_lavati taylorlavati.com instagram.com/teejy1 Newsletter: http://eepurl.com/4saHb Book Club: facebook.com/groups/lavatislovelys
Mousey— Now this question has been bugging the mouse since she read For The Love of Ash. So you have to answer to it please. You let us hanging or so it seemed. Yes you have Maggie and Luke married -expecting a baby. But girlfriend- you never did have them have it. Is there going to be another book for them?
Taylor— I had a feeling you’d ask this! So, in the epilogue of For The Love of Ash, Maggie is expecting her first child. But it’s years later if you remember. Asher was in middle school, already in the 8th grade, and Maggie was teaching at the elementary school. However, when For The Love of Hockey starts, it begins right when Maggie and Luke get engaged, which is years prior. Asher is only 9 here. So, there’s a bit of a lapse because the epilogue is so far forward. As more books come out, we’ll get closer to that time, but it won’t be until Liam’s book that we get to meet the baby! There’s much more drama to be had!
Mousey- Do you have anything you would like to tell your readers??
Taylor— That you all rock! This is a book that wouldn’t even be created if it weren’t for the readers. They are the ones who pushed me to turn this standalone into a series. This book is really for the fans. And I love that you all are constantly telling me exactly what you want.
It has been awesome having you here today with us on Mousey Books. Thank you so much for joining us Taylor. Now everyone Go get your copy of FOR THE LOVE HOCKEY!!! EXCERPT

After five years, she was surprised that she recognized his lips. She remembered every soft contour, and the memories of their hot and heavy, high school make-out sessions flooded back to her.

Mark was acting on pure instinct. He’d had such a shitty day, and he just wanted to feel good. And, despite his head telling him one thing, his body was screaming at him that Iris would make him feel much, much better. He didn’t want to think. He didn’t want to talk about his feelings—hell, he didn’t want to acknowledge that he even had emotions. The feel of the warm body pressed against his and the skin-to-skin contact made him forget about the bad news he’d heard earlier. As long as he kept touching Iris and kissing her, then he didn’t have to think about any of the bad stuff.

So he kept on kissing her.

Mark held onto Iris’s waist as he pulled her down onto the grass with him. His cabin was pretty secluded from the other houses, and the dark night provided excellent cover for them. Iris urged him on, grabbing at him and positioning herself under him. She wrapped her legs around his thighs to hold him in place and to keep their bodies pressed against one another.

He supported most of his weight on his elbows, forearms, and knees as he hovered over Iris. Their bodies still fit together, like they always had, but Mark noticed a few differences. Iris’s body felt softer and a little rounder. He reached under her shirt and cupped her breasts. They were fleshier and squishier, and he liked that cushiony, pillowy feeling. Iris felt like a brand new woman.

His thumb swept over her nipple, and her nipple responded instantly and stiffened. Iris reacted too, arching her back and wordlessly urging him to touch her. She may have felt like a brand new woman, but she moved and behaved in ways he would always remember.
